Working Principle, Mechanism And Method Of Ultrasonic Emulsifier

Feb 18, 2024

Working principle of ultrasonic emulsifier:
The ultrasonic emulsifier ultrasonic extraction, with its advantages of low extraction temperature, high extraction rate, and short extraction time, is applied to the extraction of effective content in traditional Chinese medicinal materials, oils, and various animals and plants. It is a modern high-tech means to replace traditional extraction processes and achieve energy-saving and environmentally friendly extraction. The superiority of ultrasound extraction of traditional Chinese medicine is based on the special physical properties of ultrasound, mainly through the rapid mechanical vibration waves generated by piezoelectric transducers to reduce the interaction force between the target extract and the sample matrix, thus achieving solid-liquid extraction separation.
The simple method and mechanism for ultrasonic extraction of traditional Chinese medicine and natural medicines using an ultrasonic emulsifier is to add an extraction solvent (such as water, ethanol, or other organic solvents) to the container, crush or cut the traditional Chinese medicine into granules as needed, and place them in the extraction solvent; Attach the transducer oscillator to the outer wall of the container or seal the oscillator in a stainless steel box and insert it into the container; Turn on the ultrasonic generator, and the oscillator emits ultrasonic waves into the extraction solvent. The cavitation effect and mechanical action generated by the ultrasonic waves in the extraction solvent can effectively break the cell wall of the medicinal material, making the effective ingredients in a free state and dissolve in the extraction solvent. On the other hand, it can accelerate the molecular movement of the extraction solvent, allowing the extraction solvent and the effective ingredients in the medicinal material to quickly come into contact, dissolve and mix with each other.
The main applications of ultrasonic emulsifiers are:
1. Ultrasound extraction of traditional Chinese medicine, cell fragmentation, bacterial and viral tissue fragmentation. For example, cell extraction of cellular contents.
2. The dispersion and homogenization of material particles, as well as the emulsification of products. For example, the dispersion of nanomaterials.
3. Accelerate dissolution and accelerate chemical reactions. For example, used in chemical synthesis.
