How To Use Probe Sonicator

Sep 17, 2022

Ultrasonic flaw detector is a portable industrial non-destructive flaw detection instrument, which can detect, locate, evaluate and diagnose various defects (cracks, porosity, pores, inclusions, etc.) inside the workpiece quickly, conveniently, and without damage. It can be used in both laboratory and engineering field. Widely used in boilers, pressure vessels, aerospace, aviation, electric power, petroleum, chemical industry, offshore oil, pipelines, military industry, shipbuilding, automobiles, machinery manufacturing, metallurgy, metal processing industry, steel structure, railway transportation, nuclear power, universities, etc. industry.

How to use the ultrasonic flaw detector correctly:

1. After connecting the instrument and the probe, turn on the main power switch of the flaw detector, and press the operation key to set the state of the system.

2. Press the operation key to preset the year, month and day.

3. Enter the channel preset channel, select the flaw detection method, probe type, and input the nominal size of the probe wafer (the front edge distance should also be input for the inclined probe).

4. Place the probe on the csk-ia type test block and adjust the "Gain" key of the instrument.

5. Measure or use the "Zero" key to preset the zero offset of the probe.

6. Measure or use the "Sound Speed" key to preset the speed (speed of sound) of the sound wave in the workpiece.

7. When using the inclined probe, you need to use the "k value" key to preset the k value.

8. Select the scale definition and size of the instrument with the "Sound Path" key.

9. Use the "Compensation" key to compensate when surface compensation is required.

10. After the setting is completed, press the "Function" key to enter the working state.

11. Apply couplant on the surface of the workpiece to be tested, place the probe on the workpiece to be tested, move the probe to check whether the workpiece has defects, and use the "quantitative" key to freeze the found defects, and use the "record" key to record.

12. Record the defects detected.

13. After the test is completed, turn off the main power switch of the instrument, remove the probe, wipe off the oil on the surface of the instrument and the probe, and put it in the instrument case.
